Welcome to EuCAP
Welcome to EuCAP
Dear friends and colleagues,
On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 18th edition of the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) that will take place between the 17th and the 22nd of March 2024 in Glasgow.
As the birthplace of James Clerk Maxwell, Scotland has a long history relating to Electromagnetism that derives from the early days marked by theoretical foundations, throughout the years of radar technology development and more recently complemented by a flourishing New Space sector. Glasgow is home to one of the most collaborative and dynamic innovation economies in Europe, with outstanding partnerships between the public, private and academic sectors. It is home to the largest academic community in the UK outside London and the city in Europe that manufactures most satellites. Glasgow is excellently connected with the World and easily accessible by train, sea, road, and three airports.
As Scotland’s largest city and its cultural powerhouse, Glasgow boasts beautiful architecture, excellent venues and world-class museums and galleries offering visitors a vibrant arts scene. Walking through the city you will see breath-taking buildings such as the Art Nouveau Charles Rennie Mackintosh master’s Glasgow School of Art and Queen’s Cross Church, the Kelvingrove Gallery and Glasgow University. The city is home to Scotland’s national opera, ballet and theatre companies, and is a UNESCO City of Music.
Perhaps more than anything else, Glasgow is proud to be known as the World’s friendliest city. Whether chatting to taxi drivers or tour guides, creators at markets or locals in whisky bars – you'll discover a down-to-earth Scottish personality with a progressive urban outlook. Walking in the city, you will find fabulous cafés, bars, restaurants, local and international and cultural offerings. Glasgow also makes the perfect gateway to the Scottish Highlands, with Loch Lomond only a 40 minute drive away.
For EuCAP 2024 we have secured the World-class SEC venue, a city landmark which hosted the UN’s COP26 in 2021. Situated by the river Clyde, the conference campus offers ample hotel accommodation while is walking distance from the city centre and next to the buzzing Finnieston area.
We are therefore confident Glasgow will make an unforgettable host to Europe’s flagship event on Antennas and Propagations and look forward to welcoming you there.
Sincerely,
George Goussetis
